anyone own a powertap?
Would probably be a waste of money in my case. But I have fantasies of having a cycling coach, etc.
http://onlinebikecoach.com I know this guy. He's in the same club. I'm too cheap and non-dedicated to do it however. I've put in less miles in 4 years than Archaea does in one year. |

If I got a powertap then I would not be able to deny that I am not strong and powerrful on the bike. Thus I don't have one. Also, there is that cheapskate thing that BG mentioned.

well, I guess we will have to brag about silly things like how fast we can go on our trainers (for 0.1 sec).

I watched the Tour seeing guys ramp up quite a bit. My wife and I figured out we average about 700 to 750 miles per month. She complained she only road 150 last week while training for her marathon. I have buddies doing 500 per week but can't find the time to do that. On my long trainer rides, (I have a CompuTrainer) I'm lucky to average 175 watts per hour. I can ramp it up to over 600 to 700 for a couple of milliseconds. One bad thing about miles, you must constantly purchase new chains and new cassettes. I replace the cassette once per year and the chains three times per year. My climbing cassettes I don't replace quite as often but they get expensive. The really expensive cassettes are the conversions to an 11/27 Dura Ace.

I got an IBike for Father's Day, and am learning how to use it. Something;'s wrong because it shows me generating on my sprints 800 watts, in the high thirties. Maybe I was able to break a bottom bracket for a reason. Perhaps I'm missing my calling and should be a sprinter, not an endurance guy. I like the endurance stuff better.
