I find the internments detestable as well. But men whose job it was to protect this nation found them necessary, and a Supreme Court, rightly or wrongly, agreed. It is intellectual cowardice in the extreme to blithely criticize now in perfect hindsight (and in perfect safety from threat from Germany or Japan or Russia) what at the time may have been seen as necessary for survival.
