in your stake, do the games start approx. when scheduled, or do they go as far as an hour late?

It's the latter in our stake.

So I have a game scheduled at 10pm. I'll show up at 9:50pm, to find out that the 9pm game hasn't started yet.

I'm thinking I may not bother.

Mine too.

Texas must be a more laid back place, unburdened by the the rest of the U.S.' fixation on meeting deadlines and getting things done.

The Spanish-speaking ward, when they run the stake athletic events, have not been known for their organization.

I am not extrapolating beyond this ward, mind you. But the idea of having a bracket or a plan or any sort of concept of time seems to be lacking.

Our games start on time too. If a team is five minutes late - they forfeit.
