Okay, I will reveal myself as a Mullah (myboynoah, I am with you now).

I consider President Monson a public figure so I dont mind the speculation so much for him (I think its a bit silly) but the speculation about Sister Monson is in poor taste in my view. Particularly labeling her as a "hag." I understand she has some public profile but its fairly modest. Now if someone writes a hagiographic biography about her then I would be symphatetic to more realistic portraits but I don't think we are at that point ...

P.S.

Yes MW, I will nominate myself for mullah of the year

If it's serious that there will be a communication coming out telling us confirmation circles should be limited to 3 or 4 and that communication is on the heels of one telling us not to use props in church talks and ask people to follow along in their scriptures, then yeah someone needs to be blamed.

Discussing things about President Monson's wife is inappropriate, even though some claim some personal knowledge of her. She doesn't put on the smiley face as previous First Lady's did, for some reason.

I have said before that they are far more enlightened and have less of the sordid history. But the big LDS Church is more interesting.

Sad that she can't support her husband in his calling.

Reminder not to have congregation open their scriptures . . . avoiding blobs and mobs during confirmations . . . counsel against visual aids . . .

Okay, I get the assertion of micromanaging, but accuasations of mullahship, as if we're now led by an Ayatollah? Major overreactions here.

And Monson is taking no different steps than Hinckley on the CA gay marriage issue. Can you imagine if he had reversed course and kept silent on the amendment? This board probably would have self-destructed, or fainted like those kids do who get over-excited and hyperventilate.

Nobody knows the difficulties that Sis. Monson may personally be enduring -- depression? Being a wife to an apostle for 50 years and expected to be the perfect wife and have the perfect family? I think you all need to cool it.

Right, a battle worth fighting. To arms!

Levin is right. There has always been this level of micromanagement, at least for the past 30 years.

Quite a quandary.
So you disagree that Elder Packer is known to be a hardliner? Or do you simply believe that all of the apostles are of similar mind and temperament?
