President Monson's focus on Christian service is sincere. That doesn't mean he's not all-business when it comes to administrating. And like any other human, he could certainly have a temper. Right before GC could be a particularly stressful time too.

This makes me want to bring in about 20 people for the next ordination or confirmation we have.
So you're saying that we need to blame somebody here?

This is certainly consistent with my partner's SIL's story. If anything, it gives more depth to an understanding of Pres. Monson. I don't doubt that his GC personality is accurate. It's the other part that you don't see in public. It also sheds a little light on some of the things we've been seeing recently from the First Presidency. My first thought had been that Pres. Monson had given Elder Packer free rein. But now, I'm thinking maybe Pres. Monson is of a like mind with Elder Packer.

Maybe 50 years of the church sucking every moment of your husband's life might lead to some serioius resentment issues.

When you think about it, being a "First Lady" for 50 years would suck big-time. Everyone watching you, judging you, having expectations of you. Major suckage.

President Monson lives in my friend's ward. I had heard this about sister Monson so I tried to get the scoop from her. She didn't have anything negative to say (I'm not sure she's the type to say it even if she did have a negative opinion), stating only that she seems quiet and keeps to herself, a stark contrast to President Monson. One interesting thing, however--President Monson to her knowledge is the first prophet who hasn't relocated to the downtown apartment (correct us both if we're wrong here). This has been a slight security difficulty, as they've had to staff to security people in the road in front of the house 24/7. My friend said this was due to Sister Monson not wanting to leave her friends in her neighborhood behind. You can hardly blame her for that, and I don't know what it means. Just thought it was interesting.

If we could only get an apostate prophet so we could have the membership and international profile that the Community of Christ has.

It's so hard to decide which apostle to blame for the things we don't like about the church, isn't it? There's just so many to choose from!

Quite a quandary.
