it's not necessarily SU's fault if his daughter got bad grades.
I doubt SU was there doing her homework and gave her wrong answers. In just my own family we go from MD to "might eventually get an associate's". I don't know if there is anyone to blame, or even if blame is appropriate. |

This is a potential hidden cost of the traditional (by that I mean the mid-twentieth century traditional) arrangement advocated by Sister Beck that never gets addressed. But our whole society's orientation is toward valuing mother-child bond more than father-child. It's an insidious form of reverse sexism you see everywhere.
