I'll wait for cali to tell me what Obama really meant when he said that.

It was rather Tex-like, wasn't it?
Still, I'm apparently wrong whenever I've tried to figure out what Obama says. I just want to make sure I know what I'm talking about from now on.

What pisses me off the most is that he's using this commie prop as an insult to GWB. Of all the things to criticize the President on, he picks this. So much for rugged individualism. |

All three candidates gave speeches on the economy this week. Hillary first, McCain yesterday, and Obama today.
As indicated above, Obama took the "Don't worry we'll fix everything" approach. McCain took the "Economy, what economy?" angle. And Hillary took the "Just make sure I get elected and leave everything else to me" approach. Seems to me he proposed reasonable measures of getting the private sector to be accountable, while repeating that more taxes will only hurt the economy more. |

McCain's address was sorely lacking in specifics, though. He really needs Romney. And soon. |

The US economy has had like 10 recessions since WWII. The longest of these lasted about a year and a half. There have only been two recessions in the last 25 years - both only lasting about seven months.
Why not let the business cycle take its course? Sometimes it's necessary to let the excess brush burn off, so the forest can grow again. I'm not saying fiscal policy and oversight don't have their place, but every market correction doesn't need a six point plan by the federal government.
