I don't follow the NBA much and the Summer League never. What is the value of Summer League?

The value is that the GMs and their staff are all watching. It's like a try-out. Doesn't really matter if the Nuggets don't want Jimmer. Someone else could take him. Jeremy Lin started his career off by being an undrafted summer league invite for the Mavs. Then he ended up being signed by Golden State IIRC.

Is his scoring ability enough for some system, or is he simply not appropriate for the NBA?

I hope he chooses to go to Europe after this failed audition.

I guess I'm somewhat pessimistic that he will be signed before the season by any team. In which case he has the option to go to Europe or China and sign an iron-clad contract, or maybe do some other option where he has a chance of coming back into the NBA during the season (when others are injured, commit murder, etc.).
