Buying a rig tonight. 4 weight TFO with Orvis reel.

It will be a happy day when I land my first trout fly fishing.

Got my rig. 8 ft TFO Professional 4 weight, with 3-4 weight Orvis Mid-Arbor Batenkill II.

I don't know what kind of line it has.

Practiced casting a little bit a with a friend's rod and reel on Saturday.

Reading about the trout fishing that people are doing up in Oklahoma, which is the nearest trout fishery to me.

Will practice casting some more, then try my hand with the bluegill down at the creek.

Upcoming vacation in the Portland area, if anyone knows anything about guide services, or otherwise has info, let me know.

Caught a small-mouth bass yesterday in my neighborhood creek. Unfortunately did not get a picture.

But I did accomplish my goal of catching a bass in my creek.

This hobby is expensive! I've already got my 2nd rod/reel on the way along with a number of other things that I will need for my trip in the northwest.

Waders and wading shoes are on that list as well.

Caught another black bass yesterday. Saw a couple of large bass that were not interested in my offerings.

The only thing I don't like about fly fishing is that I can't do it side-by-side with my kids. Not at this age anyway. But otherwise it is a ton of fun.

Some beautiful sun fish as well. I caught one that had beautiful orange markings, almost like a Discus fish (S. American aquarium fish). I was too lazy to take a picture.

this avocation will be the end of me. Just ordered another pair of wading boots sight unseen.

Itching to pull the trigger on new rod and reel as well. Guided trip coming up this Saturday.
