Cutting taxes is buying votes by promising not to take as much as the bastard government is otherwise taking. Damn Hillary for taking so much. Damn Obama for the same reason.

There are positive externalities to wi-fi. Just like a telephone. If you're the only with it it, it's useless. The more others use it, the more it is profitable for you to have one. So people won't get wi-fi until more people have it, so we need the government to get it jump-started.

Yesterday, Tex posts a thread calling it "another gay mormon outs himself" or something similar. He links to an op-ed piece by an LDS person who had some sort of local leadership position in the Church in AZ. He says that he will withhold his take until the rest of the board has a chance to chime in.

The thread responses covered a myriad of issues, including SSA statistics amongst Church membership, suicide, biases in our LDS culture, and others.

After all of that, Tex's observation was unvelied to be that the writer has poor persuasive writing skills.

A straw man, indeed.

I don't think wi-fi is as critical as the telephone, and I've made my living the last 10 years in Internet-related businesses and technology.

I noticed your chart, by the way. I already said earlier that I don't think a per capita comparison is fair, given the sizeable difference in population. But as long as we're doing comparisons, we ought to compare those countries tax rates with our own.

It may be we have finally found someone who has a worse understanding of the concept of a straw man than even Cali Coug. I didn't think it possible.

Let's hope Lebowski is reading this thread: I'm not the one turning it into a referendum on Tex-hate.

I'm starting to learn your sole debate tactic is to just cut and paste from my posts, whether it fits the point or not.

I love The Office. Too bad tonight is the last episode for awhile.
