My only assertion in this thread is that McVeigh ought to have (and did get) rights that foreign members of al-Qaeda ought not (and would not) get, by virtue of his citizenship.

It doesn't not matter that the end result of their horrible acts are the same. Citizenship means something.
LOL!!! How is that warping your position? Didn't you just imply once again exactly what I said?

What rights did McVeigh get that al-Qaeda ought not to get? Be specific. Given that this entire thread is devoted to a discussion on torture, I would assume at least one of those deals with the issue of torture.

If you take issue with my post, be specific as to why and how, rather than pulling yet another Tex.

I also agree with higher thresholds on things like self-incrimination and search and seizure for citizens than non-citizens.

Keep going until you get to something that deals with torture (unless you mean to implicate torture with your reference to self-incrimination).

Enhanced interrogation techniques <> torture

I was speaking more in general terms than just specifically of torture, but if that's all you care about, Indy more or less sums it up. I might broaden it a little by calling it "due process" but it's more or less that same thing.

So then you agree that torture is not permitted of any human being, whether they are American or not (given that you appear to have just attempted to explain the differences between how McVeigh should have been treated v. al-Qaeda and never mentioned torture).
