Default I'm more of the opinion that UT and OU have given up on the Big 12

I think there's a good chance they don't see a long-term future for the conference and they are thinking about a future where each is part of a different P5 conference.

My friend who is an OU alum and fan thinks OU will try to get into the Big 10. But academics could be a problem.

The other problem of OU is OSU. They may be forced to be tied to the hip for political reasons. Would the Big 10 or SEC want OSU?

Would there be political pressure for UT to be tied to any Texas institutions? Like Texas Tech? We have been reading that UT wants Houston in for political reasons.

I don't see why the SEC wouldn't want OSU. Overall, they're as respectable as most of the SEC teams. OU/OSU would be a nice pair to get.

But I don't buy these political considerations about rivals. That didn't matter with A&M. More and more public universities look like private universities, as they are required to be increasingly self-reliant for funding.

Maybe OU/OSU have a BFF pact like Utah and BYU had. Maybe OU isn't willing to break their BFF pact like the unscrupulous Utes.
