A space between death and resurrection
http://scriptures.lds.org/en/alma/40#6
Why do you suppose there "must" be a space between death and resurrection? If some people are allowed to be "twinkled," it obviously isn't a matter of God's science requiring a gap. Some have speculated that the resurrected, perfected bodies do not feel fatigue, thus they can labor unceasingly. If that is the case, it makes sense that all physical weaknesses as we know them now will not exist then: the hunger for meat and fat, the lust for sex, etc. So during the mandatory space between death and resurrection, it's really a cooling off period where spiritual people learn to control their minds. Since their perfect bodies will not go into "sex" mode on their own, a person "must" learn to control his mind before receiving his perfected gift. Eh? |
