I think it's funny how some people get all bent out of shape about Utah and Pioneer Day. It's essentially another 4th of July with BBQ's, fireworks, parades, a DAY OFF, etc. It kicks ass.

I'm sure many schools had them in CA. The high schools in my area did also. That was before my time though. During my time, the smoking section was in the boys room, or down at the 7-11.
