Default Has anybody here ever taken the Wonderlic?

Apparently the University of Texas has high standards for its athletes, with Vince Young maxing out at 6.

Most of you would max out between a 40 and 50, being the max.

I have given it many many times.

At least the academic version of the Wonderlic (called the Wonderlic SLE).

On the one that I gave, scores in the 20s were average/respectable, scores in the 30s impressive. 40s and 50 were unheard of except for very rarely, and these were BYU students.

That should give you a bit of an idea.

Steve Young scored a 33 and that score is generally considered one of the highest among QB's in the NFL. I think Griese, Bledsoe and now Leinart are the only ones to have scored higher. I've never heard of someone scoring in the 40's or 50's. Griese is said to have scored a 39.

well 50 is perfect.

I'm aware of several people scoring 45 to 49. So I thought that was average. It's really an easy test, especially if you compare it with the MENSA exams which are hard.

On Sportscenter they stated Matt Leinert scored a 35 and Alex Smith a 40.

My understanding is that the version given to athletes is in fact easier than the academic version I gave for the last couple years. So that might be why more high 30s and 40s are seen in the athlete group than I saw among very bright BYU students.

And while the test questions may be easy, Arch, keep in mind that the time limit puts significant pressure on the test taker. That's one of the main reasons I never saw scores in the 40s or 50.

do you really think these guys take this test seriously?

do you think the nfl brass cares what a guy scores on the test?

i know a kid who graduated with a 3.5 from a pac-10 school who scored i think a ten on the test who is still playing in the nfl....

its a couple of agents, or nfl franchises, who are planting negative ideas into owners, or fan bases, about a certain individual.....

Competitively, one might think they would take more pride than that.
