The winner of a football conference or even a national championship is quickly forgotten, but the enlightened world, and history, remembers Nobel Prize winners in science, economics, medicine and even literature as blessing mankind into countless future generations.
Right...name 1 Nobel prize winner from Harvard, Yale, NYU, and Princeton.

I don't think it would take much to find someone that could tell you which Universities, say... Grossman, Brady, Flutie, and Marino played for.

So your question is really more about money than prestige.

Greater prestige from greater academic distinction compared to football distinction is a given. Harvard is more prestigious than Florida. Is there any doubt about that?

Mohammed Yunus is cool, but he went to Vanderbilt, not the Ivies.

I guess he wanted to go to a school that tailgated.

There is even a great deal of internal tension sometimes errupting into civil war, but the contest is never close when this happens. See the fates of Tarkanian, Woody Hayes, Frank Kush, Jim Herrick and scores of other erstwhile untouchables who even slightly embarrased their universities; see also, the NCAA, a creature of university administrators.

So basically you are asking who on this board would rather watch a football game, and who would rather watch gay dudes in tights without shirts?
