Default How does gay marriage weaken marriage?

Good article I read awhile back in how gay marriage has further weakened the institution of marriage in Scandinavia. Basically, the author's point is that the central purpose of marriage in society is to provide a stable loving environment for children. Illegitimacy and divorce has served to weaken the link between marriage and children and gay marriage has just weakened that link further. Now marriage is more about two people who love each other for the time being, than it is about children.

Here's another interesting article from the same guy. What I found interesting was the fact that some folks support gay marriage precisely because they see it weakening marriage in general. Not saying that's the intention of most gays, but that's what the result will be.
