Default Der Spiegel interviews Uchtdorf

http://www.spiegel.de/international/...491890,00.html

It's an interesting article, not particularly complementary or antagonistic.

Nice find. Agreed that it was a neutral article - a rather refreshing approach.

On the contrary, they donate a 10th of what they earn. Uchtdorf, for example, lives off his Lufthansa pension. And he says he has no right to a house or other comforts in Salt Lake City. At most, apostles like him receive compensation for their travel costs.
What light does this shed on the discussion we had earlier regarding compensation received by the quorum?

Don't most apostles own two homes?

If so, then it is a refreshing take on "no purse, no scrip".

I don't have a problem with apostles not living like paupers, though.

They're getting ripped off. When a football coach is presumably the highest paid Church employee, the apostles should at least be pulling down 200K-300K.
