I didn't know Mullahs hated Bushman's book. They really do just want to hear the fables.

Yes. We need to reinstate the BOTB. The problem seems to be getting a book that the majority can agree upon. We need someone to take this bull by the horns. Archaea and I nominated the Juanita Brooks MMM book, but I think I was the only one that read it. Maybe you can suggest a better pick.

FYI, I got my hands on a copy just this week. I'm still wrapping up the DOM book though, so it will be a while before I get time to digest it. Rest assured, I'll make a controversial post on it sometime in the future.

You're all correct; I haven't read any of the books in this thread.

In my defense, I've been working full-time and taking a full load of classes for the past four semesters.

I'm not sure that I would have even if I had giant blocks of free time, but that's another argument.

Why not take a break from this board for a few months and use that free time to catch up on these books? What do you say?

I think Juanita Brooks is one of the most impressive mormons. It amazes me that a rural believing mormon WOMAN had the fortitude to do what she did. Especially one who born in the early 1900s. Honestly amazing, IMO.

I liked her book.
