Default The best hire that BYU could make for HC...

bar none would be Mike Leach. He can maximize BYU's talent base through scheme and coaching.

He is connected to BYU.

Of course, BYU would be the last school to hire Leach. Leach is the antithesis for all the holier-than-thou BYU stands for.

BYU would rather be ground zero for a North Korean nuclear blast than hire Mike Leach.

But I think he's really the guy with the talent and the BYU connection to actually turn this around.

Sorry, we are not going to succeed with a pro-style offense with our mediocre talent. It's going to be bad this season. It's going to be bad next season. I just can't see it working. Where is the talent going to come from?

I agree. We need some gimmicks to compensate for poor talent. Doing what everybody else is doing is a loser of an idea.

Unless BYU can survive on defense until fresh blood can be infused into the offensive talent pool, BYU's football is in its death throes.

There is no legitimate talent on the offensive side of the ball. In twenty years, you and I will reminisce how BYU once fielded a competitive football brand, just as the Ivies and military academies did during the 1940s.

BYU athletics, except perhaps in Olympics sports are dead. The enforcement of the Honor Code has finally killed BYU athletics.

Being hard to deal with assholes as what has killed BYU. We don't have any friends left.

In no particular order,

The Honor Code,
Being Difficult Assholes, and
Gay Marriage

have combined to kill BYU sports.
