Default Best LDS recruiting class ever.........

Scout updated their rankings and this is at least on paper the best LDS recruiting class ever.

A few notables

Manti Te'o 5 star
Adam Timo 4 star
Craig Bills 4 star
Steven Fanua 4 star
Xavier Sua'filo 4 star
Kyle Van Noy 4 star
Taysom Hill 4 star
Brett Thompson 4 star

All of the above players are LDS, a few others that are not LDS that we have an outside shot at

John Martinez 4 star (doubtful we get him)
Stan Hasiak 4 star (he may be LDS but I dont think so)
Josh Nunes 4 star

There are also several top 3 star recruits
Richard Wilson 3 star
Jray Galeai 3 star
Darren Markle 3 star
Lt Filiaga 3 star
Jeff Manning 3 star
Tui Crichton 3 star
Chris Washington 3 star
Jeff Manning 3 star
Jamie Jensen 3 star

We could realistically because of our scholarship limitations this year, fill a complete recruiting class (depending on need obviously) with nothing less than 3 star recruits.

We've already got Timo and Bills.

Thompson and Fanua are virtual locks at this point as well if the chatter is true. Well...I know it is about Thompson, but can't speak to Fanua other than the recent scuttlebutt.

Most think that Su'afilo will end up choosing BYU, but still a road ahead on that one.

Martinez = No chance
Nunes = Legit chance. He and his folks loved it at BYU on their visit.
Hasiak = Not sure how good the chance is.

Wilson = BYU is his #1 as of now.
Galeai = Already committed
Crichton = Already committed

Markle = Doesn't have an offer
Filiaga = I hear he's got BCS stars in his eyes, so we'll see how that goes.
Washington = Have no idea what to expect, but he does have an offer from us.
Manning = Will likely be a Ute.
Jensen = Will commit to BYU on the spot if offered and Nunes goes in another direction.
Hill = Doesn't have an offer
Van Noy = Getting tons of offers and BYU is telling him he can choose from a myriad of positions that he wants to play. Personally I think he ends up at Colorado, just based off most of his comments.

One player I think is just a tad below Martinez and Su'afilo in terms of talent and isn't getting nearly enough love is DT Latu Heimuli...he's 3 star talent easy imo.

I was extremely impressed watching Tui Chrichton play BB for Timpview. A high school junior about 6'3 280ish with quick feet and a low center of gravity. Exactly what you want in an OL.

You should have seen the state championship game last year between Timpview and Pineview. I have never seen such a complete domination by an offensive line in my life. It was borderline child-abuse.

It's pretty much as exciting as recruiting can get, especially at BYU, where most of these kids won't even be playing until 2013 (assuming 2-year missions)...

RS 2009
Mission 2010-2011
May play in 2012 (may not crack starting lineup).

The icing on the cake would be getting Te'o, but the talent available at LB is so good this year, we'll really only be losing marginal talent at most...

I agree. That was brutal to watch.

I would loved to have seen a Timpview/Alta game the next week as that would have been a heckuva game.
