Default The church drops scouting

Conservative and liberal Mormons everywhere cheer.

I don't know that many LDS kids who like scouts. Maybe at the Cub Scout age. Of course, unmotivated leaders and not enough kids per unit probably has had a lot to do with that.

I'm afraid it's going to get worse, not better. More non-descript activities with zero budget. With leaders getting less training, less safety constraints, less resources to make outdoor activities happen.

Same constraining rules. I'm not optimistic about a program that goes much beyond jungle ball.

seriously, the anti-gay Mormons are celebrating. The anti-feminist Mormons are celebrating. And the left-wing America-hating Mormons are celebrating. And ironically the Mormon feminists are celebrating.

That's how you know this was a very suspect decision.

More window dressing, no substance.

If the international church hasn't had scouting for over 20 years, maybe we can just adopt the program they have been using all this time. Presumably it's been very effective and successful. Does anyone know what it is?
