Actually, I'm asking for you to tell me which you believe is Lebowski's favorite. But failing that, tell me which one you enjoyed most.

I can't decide. I want to check Crime and Punishment, but then Brothers was good, and so was Anna. A tough choice for me. War and Peace, other than the Pierre and Natasha love story didn't really do it for me. The Kagarins (sp?) were too much.

The reason I asked is because I found Bros. Karamazov to be the one I think is the best novel of the group, but I have to conced that I enjoyed Anna K. the most.

The redemptive qualities of Anna K are quite moving to me. Call me a sentimentalist, but I find those novels, together with Les Miserables, which I have in English and in French to be extraordinarily moving.

Are you without any sense of humor today? Notice "novel" is in quotes. Okay, mark one down for Mike being an anal retentive dingaling. Number six is not a novel either.

I could only remember four Russian novels and I suppose those are the only ones I ever read. But the question needed more balance.

I only read Anna K. and C&P. I did however carry G.A. around briefly in the 6th grade to impress my social studies teacher (who was working on a masters degree in Russian Studies). Mr. Hammond. He told me "I'm glad you are reading those books."

His tests were ridiculous.

Who led the Russian Revolution in 1918?

A. Ronald Reagan
B. Skeletor
C. Lenin
D. Larry Bird

I remember one six weeks period I got a 100 on every test and assignment.

He would also fall asleep as he was talking. He was working on his thesis, and sleep was reserved for class.

Oh, I think C&P is a more important book than Anna K.

Sure it is; he made most of that crap up.

I read it when I was about 16 and I thought it was the most boring book I had ever read.

It would have been fun to throw Skeletor into the mix.
