Hague moved to running back/receiver

Is this a sign that Mendenhall has a lot of confidence in his current safeties? My understanding was that Hague was playing good ball at safety and was a hard hitter. Or, could it be that Mendenhall knew Hague was too good to keep off of the field as a running back/receiver and wanted to keep his promise to put his best players on the field?

Optimistically, I am hoping it was a combination of the two- they are going to be decent at safety and Hague will tear it up on offense.

I am hoping that Hague = Morgan Scalley.

Now, before Ute fans jump all over me, Scalley was an athlete w/o a position for a while. A jack off all trades if you will. I think that Hague will eventually settle in on the defensive side of the ball post-mission, but he'll still get some reps on offense in the slot, as a RB, etc.

Hague has a LONG ways to go before he can be considered in the same breath production wise as Scalley... but the way they play I feel 'could' be similar. I have not yet had the opportunity to see Hague play, but from what Ive read I think t hat may be a good comparison.

Bronco said that he was surprised by the play of the safeties, in that they were performing beyond what he expected, thus Hague would not crack the 2 deep there.

So, with Mahuika and Meikle both nursing injuries it seemed like a wise move to put Hague in the receiver slot/running back and give him an opportunity to play.

Makes logical sense. After his mission I wouldn't be surprised to see Hague moved back to Safety, but who knows?

I am more excited by the thought of Hague running that receiver reverse than I am either Meikle of Mahuika. Meikle isn't fast enough to hit the corner, and Mahuika is more of a start and stop runner. Hague seems like a better option for that play (which I do like) than either Meikle or Mahuika.

You are implying that Scalley does it too? And that Hague hasn't, but is planning too? What kind of balls are they playing with in football these days?

I know exactly what my quote says, thank you very much.

I am only speaking of Scally being a jack-off-all-trades right now. I think that Hague can become a jack-of-all-trades though if he works hard enough.

Hague played a lot more safety his junior year than his senior year. he was very impressive his junior year. but his more natural position is on offense. he looked great at the scrimmage yesterday playing the H.
