Lesser moments in television
Comanche Moon was a disappointment.
Of course it is hard to measure up to one of the greatest movies of all times, in Lonesome Dove. Lonesome Dove doesn't get the recognition it deserves. I put it in my top 10. But no one puts it on the movie lists because it is a mini-series. |

I could not get past the first installment. Just did not do it for me.
I agree on Lonesome Dove. Great Mini-Series. |

Never seen Lonesome Dove.
My Dad has it on DVD. Perhaps I ought to take a look?

Bad acting, lousy dialog, uninteresting story line....the first installment was flat out awful. What has happened to Val Kilmer anyway? How far has that guy fallen? Also, Karl Urban is one of those actors that is decent when he doesn't have to say almost anything such as in LOTR and the Bourne Supremacy. He has the right look for a lot of things and works well physically. When that guy has to open his mouth, however, bad bad bad. He will be awful as Bones in the upcoming Star Trek movie, I predict.

actually I thought Val Kilmer was one of the only entertaining things in the new mini-series.
Karl Urban was awful. |
