Mullah is "stereotyping" Islam? It is an aspect of Islam that can be quite debilitating, but it is not stereotyping the Sufis or moderates. Maybe she doesn't know anything about Islam.

No, she knows. She spent a year practicing different world religions (among which was Sufi, iirc). I have her book Flunking Sainthood but I haven't read it.
