Default christmas in early november

my current project *requires* me to have a table saw.
Rigid TS3650 will git 'r dun.

Finally, the grail will be mine.
And likely, an inch or two less on the wing span.

giddy, giddy, giddy.

These things keep me in business. Close second only to the Skil-Saw, which must require more skill (or at least, brains) than people are willing to put into it. My last SKil-Saw injury was a guy on a ladder trying to cut a diagonal cut into his window-frame. I still can't figure out what he was trying to do, but ladder + free-hold diagonal cut = ER visit.

That is a nice looking contractor's saw. I need one of those myself. My only advice is that, whatever else you do, do not take the guard off. I know they are a pain and I know the pros do it, but still, do not tkae it off. (Of course if you don't care which finger is the nose picker and you play neither guitar or piano it may not matter so mcuh).

My FIL is missing parts of three fingers. So I don't need convincing to be careful.

I'm buying a push stick to go along with it.

I'm a sucker for power tools too and that one looks cool. I'm jealous, really.

What are you going to make first?

Last constructiony thing I made was an envelope and pen holder for my mom in 8th grade in whatever that waste of a class was.

1. turn pile of 2x4s into saw dust. Just cause I can.
2. island in the kitchen.
3. built in book shelves/cabinets on either side of the fireplace.
4. book shelves in the den.
5. <wife is still thinking of next project>

Do you really need any reason beyond #1 of your list to justify a power tool of any sort, particularly a table saw in this case?

I want to buy a wood chipper. When the wife asked why, the only reason I could come up with was "because it's cool."

Tools are awesome. Last year when times got tough for Gidget and me I sold my dual bevel 12" sliding compound saw. It was a Bosch and never used, still in the box awaiting its first project. It made me sad and I think I lost part of my manhood that day.
