Default Utah's win against Duke

Watching Utah beat Duke in MSG showed the gap between Utah and BYU basketball. It's HUGE. That was already apparent in the head to head matchup, but I can't imagine this BYU team even having a shot to beat Duke on a neutral floor.

Utah did their best at the end of regulation to give the game away, along with some very suspect refereeing. The 10 second backcourt violation was stupendous. I saw it coming. I was yelling at my TV.

I was actually rooting for Utah. Yes, I hate Duke that much.

Utah has some ballers. There front court, without Poetl, woudl dominate over BYU's. I started losing track of the number of times Duke drove in and had their shots blocked at the rim. Height, length, athleticism.

We have just ONE of those guys (Kaufusi) and we think we are golden. Utah has a whole pack of them.

I'm afraid this is going to be a very depressing season for BYU basketball. The other teams are going to force BYU away from their strengths (Collinsworth, and to a lesser degree, Kaufusi).

It's funny how we think that transfers from lesser teams (utah state) and bench riders from P5 teams are going to be these great players for us. They're usually not. They're usually just ok at best. We got a whole lot of very average talent on the BYU roster.

The talent is average so the cohesion and chemistry need to be perfect. It isn't.

Defense is suspect. And really an ugly offense that is not crisp and coordinated.
