Default We bought a home

Finally did what I have been talking about for a long time--move to the burbs, so that my son can get a better education.

The sellers held a little neighborhood reception for us yesterday evening. So got to meet many of the neighbors. Many of them showed up, which was impressive and very nice. I think there is going to be an interesting cast of characters in this place.

Our current neighborhood is a working class one. One thing you are struck by is how much more professionally connected people are. You tell them what you do and where you went to school, and they have some kid or grandkid who has been there, done that.

One of our neighbors, an older woman, sailed around the world w/ her husband over 10 years. Another (yet to meet him yet) was in the Peace Corps in the pacific somewhere as a younger man. A neighbor who specializes in grief counseling and death and dying.

Of course, they could be cannibals sizing us up for a meal...

Everything has kind of fallen into place so far, and we feel very fortunate.
