Default So does Barry Bonds retire after the season?

There are 11 games left in the season for the Giants.

Barry Bonds needs 7 homers to catch Babe Ruth, 8 to pass him for second all time.

On the off-chance that he does hit 8 in 11 games, does he retire at the end of the season? Or does he play another and try for Hank Aaron?

I say yes he retires, and good riddance as far as I'm concerned. I've enjoyed watching him over the years and he is by the far the best to come along in my generation (until A-Rod smashes all records in a few years), but Bond's records are tainted and he knows it.

I think he has enough respect for the game to leave Aarons record alone, but he would be more than happy to take second from the fat white guy from long ago.

No way he retires. I honestly don't think he believes that anything is tainted and he probably thinks that if he jacks 50 next season everyone will realize that. I think he's determined to hold that record for himself. I'd be shocked if he retired.

Noooo!

Personally I can't stand the walking bag of 'roids, but next season he is going to break Hank Aaron's record @ Petco Park in San Diego, and I am going to be in the outfield stands with mitt in hand.

Default He's not going to retire; I wish he would, though

He'll just keep collecting that huge paycheck and he'll eventually break Aaron's all time record.

And he'll be congratulating himself the whole time.
