Default My new most patriotic moment ever

Joey Chestnut waving the American flag after taking home the Nathan's hot dog eating championship.

What a battle of two great champions.

Chestnut was estimated to eat over 17,000 calories in one sitting. How does the body take that? Are they allowed to barf it all out an hour later? If not then those dudes must do dumps of monumental proportions.

I'm still yet to experience anything close the the wave of hyper-patriotism I felt a few years ago when buying Cokes for my family at a UN Free Chevron Station in LaVerkin near the entrance to Zion Canyon.

Hey! I was at that same Chevron last Friday. Gave me goose bumps.

Like me, did you hear the strains of The Star Spangled Banner wafting somewhere from overhead? It certainly wasn't from the overhead speakers playing whatever music was on - it was almost like it came from nowhere, yet surrounded my entire being.

I tear up when I think about it.
