Default Did anyone on this board get anything out of GC this Weekend?

My favorites thus far:

Elder Uchdorf's talk in priesthood meeting last night, "Stop whining, suck it up, and get to work".

Elder Hales' talk this morning on responding to critics of the church.

And,

Pres. Monson's closing remarks this morning.

I thought this weekend was fantastic.

I went to SC game at the Coliseum. Came home in time to watch the Dodgers finish off the Cubs.

Didn't have to prep a lesson for Sunday.

Had time to make a big breakfast.

Went on a walk today with the family.

Will be able to read all the same talks in 3 hours that everyone spent 10 hours listening to yesterday and today.

I agree, Elder Uchtdorf's priesthood talk was likely the highlight of the entire conference for me.

Elder Nelson's talk on marriage was also very uplifting.

I particularly enjoyed the missionary theme of the 1st session on Saturday.

Every GC is going to hit on the same two dozen themes, over and over, every time. However, every six months, certain points strike a chord with me like never before, depending on my circumstances. While listening to the many talks, I make mental notes of which talks to re-read and examine in greater depth.

This time around, there were three that I will hone in on.

the time to read all the talks. For some bizarre reason, I don't think that's going to happen.

as participating in 'theological scrums". I thought that the one label certainly sums it up for some on this board.
