do the rules require you to take a step between hurdles, or can you clear 3 or 4 hurdles with one leap?

That's a good question.

It would be impressive to see someone go over 4 at a time, but it would look funnier if the hurdler only took one step between hurdles - kind of like how cartoon ostriches run with full rotation of the leg at the hip.

As I understand it, you can jump as many hurdles as you would like without taking a step. Also, you can run right through them as well.

Are men's hurdles taller than women's hurdles?

Yes in both the HH and in the intermediate hurdles, men and women do not use the same height. As a side note, a new favorite sport of mine, beach volleyball, one in which the US of A won both golds plus the promoters had the decency to have a bevy of ring, bikini, girls, uses an eight foot net for the men and a seven foot two net height for girls.

I believe women must wear bikinis and they are obligated, unless you're a Belgian woman, to show as much skin as possible. Viewers, except for the NOW representatives, have not objected. The men thankfully are covered to avoid unnecessary exposure.
