Just got word that
I will be receiving soon, new Shimano carbon fiber wheel set. Cool. New fast wheels that flat and that I can't change. I love cycling gadgets.

Are your Shimanos tubeless? Deep dish or regular depth?
They can be a bit of a pain to change and can be trouble if your puncture. However, I'll take the hassle anyday. Unfortunately, there is no way I get that one past the house budget committee, even with the plea that it is going to save me some weight. She'll just point at my midsection and tell me lose the 10 pounds around my waist first and then we'll talk. |

When she points at the waist tell her
that rotating mass is much much more significant in terms of acceleration than non-rotating mass. IOW, the weight savings in the wheel is much more noticeable off the line than a small paunch.
I relaly liked this argument, but it doesn't work well at my house, either. |
