Prop 8 losing steam.
It was announced in HP group that the Church would no longer encourage members to call friends in California to vote in favor of it. Apparently I was sleeping when they announced they would select some to participate. But I was awake when they canceled this option.

What are the latest poll numbers? Last I heard, the pro-prop 8 votes had pulled ahead.

And unlike my earlier impression that Prop. 8 would go down to defeat fairly handily, my current view is that it will go down to the wire. The pro-8 effort is extremely well-organized and the last 48 hours will be decisive. |

The most interesting thing about current numbers is that it's young voters who are keeping it close. That really surprises me.

Here at UC-Provo, they read a letter over the pulpit asking California voters to volunteer their time.

There are a lot of Democrat Catholics in California that are for Prop 8. |

Prop 8 has done a very solid job at getting their word out.
The No and Prop 8 movement has been unimpressive and unpersuasive thus far.
