Default There Will be Blood

I have been watching some more movies to pass the time with the wife being out of town. A few thoughts on some of the movies I have watched.

There Will Be Blood: definitely the best movie that I have seen from last year. I absolutely love the last scene in the movie. I know some have complained about a lack of focus with this movie but I thought it was fantastic. Best movie of the year that I have seen.

No Country for Old Men: Also a great movie and just below There Will be Blood on my list. I enjoy the Coen brother's movies like this, but I still prefer the Big Lebowski and Raising Arizona style from the Coen brothers.

Michael Clayton: Like this one but less than the others. Agree with some of the complaints previously listed on this site about lack of consistency in the movie but still enjoyable to watch.

300: I have finished this but I would say this movie pretty much sucks. It is just like Sin City all visual and nothing else to add to it. I might finish the last 30-50 minutes tonight.

300 is decent if you go in with the right mind set knowing it is all style and no substance.

I rented There Will Be Blood last week. Fabulous. My only complaint is that I wish it would have been longer. Perhaps that means the length was about right.

Just saw it - great movie. The guy playing Eli Sunday got on my nerves, but Daniel Day Lewis was fantastic. I loved his accent - sort of like Sean Connery without the thick Scottish brogue. Interesting musical score - very effective.

Also, I now understand "drinking milkshakes" references. So that's good.
