Today's stage was a fantastic stage
too bad for Michael Rogers, but for the crash, would have won the stage and led the Tour.
My choice is out right now.

I was confused as to why Kloden came back for Vino. I thought they were co-captains and if Kloden was feeling better why wasn't he allowed to move up? Seems a shame.

No one challenged Rasmussen? Maybe because no one could keep up with him? As you may have noticed he dropped his group pretty convincingly. This is what Rasmussen lives for. The big boys have to pick their spots. Rasmussen has done this before, bit he can't carry it all the way to paris, although he seems to think this year is different.
The stage was ve4ry interesting. Tragic for O'grady, who has broken ribs and cracked vertebrae, and for Mick Rogers who was holding the race by the throat and then ended up in the team car. It is a small turn of the wheel and your race and maybe life changes. Arroyo is a lucky dude as he landed in grass instead of in a field of rocks or over a cliff. I thought it was a very exciting stage, on balance.

I like the element of wondering what's going to happen next which was often missing during the Armstrong years. The same pattern was repeated over and over again. Disco out front making sure no one got to far ahead. Get to the mountains and have four guys lead Armstrong up the mountain picking off riders along the way until only Armstrong and one or two other guys were left. He truly was the patron of the peloton. |

It wouldn't surprise me if Rasmussen opened up a huge lead. Like 8 minutes.
Hard to regain 8 minutes in a time trial. |

I'm not convinced about Rasmussen. He has done this the last few years. HE goes out strong in the first real mountian stages, gets a stranglehold on the KOM and then fades in the later mountain stages. He loses time to the leaders in both the ITT and in a few mountain stages. We'll see. Recall that only Pantani has won as a true mountain specialist and recall Rasmussen crashing multiple times a couple of years ago.

Unless Rasmussen has done something vastly different this year I see no reason to believe he'll stand on the podium this year. He's done something like this the past 2 years. He'll fade.
