I'll say C while admitting that A would be a real likelihood years down the road. Membership requires so much, it would be real tough to go it alone. I could see me tailing off as the years passed. I've always admired those (usually women) who manage to make it work for them.

I'd slap her around, make her life hell, figure out a way to get custody of the kids, then divorce her.
I can't afford to let my children fall into wickedness with her. |

Well when i first met my wife, she hadnt been to church in years, was doing a lot of things that would make goatnapper blush. I was pretty active in the church, still relatively young, i was planning on a mission. After dating for a long time, i started leaning more towards her way of life instead of my own. It got worse and worse, eventually I didnt go on a mission, we got married outside the temple, and didnt go to church for about 3 years, sunday was just another day, no real LDS influence at all in our lives.
About 2 years ago we felt like something was missing and that we needed to go back, we actually moved to a new house because we figured we needed a fresh start with everything, so we bought a new house, i got a new job, moved to a new city (albeit still utah county), we started going back to church, i can honestly say our lives changed for the better. We had a child, and this last May we were sealed in the temple. Things have been a lot better for us since then, maybe the LDS church doesnt do it for everyone, it might be operas or guys in tights, or maybe its bowing down to men and covering every inch of your body because you are to be seen and not heard. But the LDS church is what did it for us. Now to answer the original question, i agree with Steelblue having been through it, it is very tough to stay active on your own, it becomes to easy to just not go. Now my wife is very active, and she is even the one that gets me off my ass most sundays to go.

Been there, done that.
C. Then she left and I filed for divorce. It is very difficult to stay active with an inactive spouse. Even when she pretends to go through some of the motions. Even more difficult is dealing with a kid who would rather stay home and play with mommy than go to boring church.

Heaven forbid children decide for themselves whether they want to go to Church.

Right. I'm sure you'd say the same with nutrition or education too . I look at it as something I think is important for them and hopefully, when they go off on their own they think it's important as well. If they don't, well at least I did my best.
