any1 want to go to Texas' premier race/rally?
Hotter n Hell 100 in Wichita Falls, TX (north Texas).
100 miles and shorter distances. Sanctioned crit race Friday evening. Sat. rally is also sanctioned race (as well as rally). More than 10,000 riders. More than 4,000 volunteers. Cycling expo as well, with manufacturers present. Air Force flyover and cannon used to start. Looks like a fun event, but I already have the schedule booked. Some year when I don't, perhaps, if I can be fit at that time of year.

I've broken 5 hours.
I'm sure I could do it this time as well (assuming no strong winds). But even with winds, there are so many riders, you can pretty much mike the entire time. But I may be a bit more casual this year. The first rest stop (which I've never stopped at) apparently has a huge fruit offering. Like magnificent. I just found this out. So I may stop for fun, instead of gun for time. |
