Default My thoughts about Mormon charity (Huckabee)

or the lack thereof, I think might help explain to some degree why Huckabee's economic liberalism would be particularly unappealing to Mormons.

Now you can start to see why an appeal to help the poor and downtrodden would work with Evangelicals. Because their churches are often involved in such efforts. The idea of making the Govt. help do Christian work with Christian principles would appeal to them.

Not as much to Mormons, who believe that the govt. should not be involved.

The LDS Church uses private funds for charity, not public funds. Perhaps that is the difference that many Mormons - including myself - see.

Outsourcing charity. Eases conscience and makes people feel good about paying taxes.
