There was a guy on the Ghana squad waving around an Israeli flag. Anyone know why? Are there lots of African Jews/Israelis? Forgive my ignorance.

I feel like I knew we were in an impossible group the day they selected groups. Anyone who honestly believed that we were going to advance this World Cup is, I think, a homer in the truest sense. I will say that I thought we would get 3 points against Ghana. Now, I'm not so sure. Ghana looked amazing. The Czechs helped by having a mental meltdown in the 2nd half (how about the guy getting ejected for swearing at the ref? How do you do that to your team down only 1?).
It appears today that the gods of soccer have set us up to have a chance. We have no business beating Italy. But... |

I was blown away at how good Ghana looked on Saturday. They toyed with the Czechs like they were a high school squad. Sure they may have played over their heads that game, but I'm sure even Brazil is taking notice of those guys now.

I was under the impression it was related to Iran and their crazy leader's statements that Israel should be destroyed. I have seen lots of Israeli flags, particularly in games against Iran. I assumed it was related, but maybe he is Jewish. |
