Default Secret handshakes?

One of my friends at work is an Indian-American guy who didn't really know anything about Mormonism until he became a fan of Mitt Romney. For the past year or so, he has been asking me a bunch of questions about my religion. Today, we ran into an LDS urologist and I introduced them and told my friend that we knew each other from church. After the other LDS guy left, my friend asks me, "So is it true that Mormons have secret handshakes?"

What would your response be to that question? Would anybody just say "no" and leave it at that? Not me.

Say no. We have sacred tokens. Baseball players have secret handshakes.

My answer would be:

"Only if we want our leaky pipe fixed."

I would give a brief lecture on the history of the Masons and the Masons' influence in LDS worship.

I explained the difference between churches and temples and without getting too specific (nothing more detailed than what Boyd K. Packer put in The Holy Temple) gave him a brief explanation of the endowment. Also mentioned that it has some striking similarities to Masonic rituals.

Nope, I'm pretty sure the alcohol and tithing stuff would be deal-breakers. From a political standpoint, though, he's right in-line with the average LDS person.
