Surfah was actually pretty accurate....I know I bought mine as part of a BMG CD club deal.

I have no idea what I was thinking when I bought that disc. I returned it pretty quickly at this small used CD store right near Condo Row. I swear that whenever I go to a used CD shop, I can always find multiple copies of that disc.

My roommate maintained his love for Hootie until the next disc came out...Fairweather Johnson. Even he could not pretend to overlook such a horrible second effort.

The Harry Potter books are fantastic: well-plotted, funny, full-bodied characters, imaginative, powerful themes . . .

When the 7th book came out, a Friday night, my wife and I went to the local Barnes and Noble with our two boys, enjoyed the festivities, and then went home and put the kids to bed. I then went back to wait in line for the midnight witching hour when the copies would be handed out. I got our two copies. We read for a few hours that night, and then the whole next day, a Saturday. We both stayed in bed and read all day. Our boys scavenged for their food; ocassionally we threw them some skittles, which rattled along the floor, and they pounced and ate all they could find. My wife and I had our treats in bed. We both finished at the exact time (my wife insisted), well past midnight on Saturday, and we talked about the book well into the night. As much as I love the books, the experience of reading them was as memorable as the actual books themselves.

Can't wait to read them with my boys.

The kids survived; the parents enjoyed themselves; and the parents were better parents for the next week b/c they were happy. Yep, the books are GREAT for society.

The books are legit. Battle through books 1 and 2, they are more childrens' books (I know, I know, they are all childrens' books). The series starts to get good in the 3rd book. Once you read book 3, 4 is even better and you are hooked. They are really worth the read.

I have actually read them all, I struggled through book 1, book 2 got better and I couldnt stop after book 3. They are actually really good.

I gave in a few Summers ago and read the first 6.

The 7th came out last year and I still haven't read it. Waiting for it to come out in paperback.
