Mormon Royalty
All cultures develop a "royal" class for purposes of hero worship.
Some develop it by virtue of calling, some by virtue of general notoriety. Whom would you consider as Mormon Royalty. First, there seems to be different levels of royalty. High Royalty, i.e., the Presidency, and the Apostles. Thereafter, their families become part of the royal class. The Princes and princesses. Seventies and other GAs are a lower class, sort of like the Dukes and Earls. Thereafter we have the squires, Stake Presidents and Bishops, and assorted families. And then we have the Marriotts, the Huntsmans, and Neelemans, the monied classes. And we have royalty in our midsts. Some are able to walk between Mormon royalty and real royalty. Name or define some of the Mormon royalty that come to your minds.

The Neeleman's are not royalty (as far as I know) because they don't appear to be throwing their money around at BYU and the church (unlike Huntsmans and Marriotts).
It's not enough to be rich. You have to be a player. |
