Default Truth

here's what I really thought:

She's got this cool evangelical middle-class charisma thing going on that people are clearly drawn to. But she's also got this newscaster perfect-hair over-rehearsed not-entirely-genuine thing going on.

She's like the love child of Mike Huckabee and Mitt Romney.

Why do you feel a need to insult Mitt?

Religion rises inevitably from our apprehension of our own death. To give meaning to meaninglessness is the endless quest of all religion. When death becomes the center of our consciousness, then religion authentically begins. Of all religions that I know, the one that most vehemently and persuasively defies and denies the reality of death is the original Mormonism of the Prophet, Seer and Revelator, Joseph Smith.

if she has the middle class thing down, then Obama is not going to be able to say "McCain and Palin doesn't understand the struggles of working class Americans."

I guess Obama does, if you consider being appointed the editor of Harvard law review "work".

'cept she cut funding for teenage moms. That's not very understanding, IMO.

Wait... maybe there's a chance for redemption on this topic.

You keep bringing this up but this is a conservative vs. liberal distinction. You believe the government should be taking care of the teenage moms. She believes that's not the government's role. She'd prefer the working people keep more of their own money and lift themselves, rather than getting government handouts.

That's fine that you belive that ... but that's a political philosophy difference, nothing more.

Well... almost. Not only did she support the BTN before she was against it, after she stood up to those pork barrel big spenders in DC, she kept the money.

How is that congruent with people keeping more of their own money? How does vetoing funds for teenage mothers yet spending lots of money on other things amount to a defendable political priority? Not all those single mothers come from large & supportive families.

Alaska is notorious for getting much more federal money than it gives. Is this the new kind of low-tax-but-big-govt conservative?

When you are charismatic and give a good speech, your inexperience and bull crap you have done in the past really doesn't matter.

Sincerely,
