I didn't like the call, but the announcers made it sound like Washington would have won the game without that call. The extra point was still blocked. I don't think it was due to the kicker changing the trajectory, either. That kick had no shot.
I don't recall a single penalty called against Washington prior to that play. There were some blatant holds that weren't called. Not the "you could call a holding penalty on every play" variety. I'm talking linemen unabated to the QB, and guy grabbing him from behind. Bottom line is I think BYU would have won in OT, but we'll never know. I'll take the win and not feel badly about it. |

Pac-10 refs are something else. And I don't mean that as a bitter can't-get-over-it Sooner fan. It just is.
Crazy end. I was trying to follow your game on my cell phone and I thought sure it was going into overtime and then poof. "Washington extra point - missed." Wow. Sooners looked awful today. Don't be deceived by the score. |
