Default Here's a reason I won't vote for Obama

From msn.com comparing the housing plans of both candidates. Obama of course wants more government interference in the housing market

Below

Here are the key housing proposals put forth by McCain:

* McCain says that Fannie and Freddie are too big and that their job of injecting liquidity into the mortgage markets can be done by banks and savings and loans, among other institutions. The companies' ties to the government should be eliminated, McCain says.

* McCain has also called for a Justice Department mortgage-abuse task force to probe criminal wrongdoing in the mortgage industry.

* McCain says his first priority is keeping "well-meaning, deserving homeowners who are facing foreclosure in their homes." He says taxpayers' money shouldn't go to real-estate speculators or irresponsible market participants.

Obama urges bigger government role
Obama supported the housing bill as originally drafted. But he is backing a bigger role for the government in the housing mess. He's proposing $20 billion in aid to help head off foreclosures and help local communities.

Obama would also:

* Give a 10% "universal mortgage credit" to homeowners who don't itemize on their tax return. The credit would be worth an average of $500 to 10 million homeowners, his campaign says.

* Boost funding for U.S. and state law-enforcement programs aimed at fighting fraud and abuse in the subprime mortgage industry. He would also create new penalties for mortgage brokers found guilty of fraud and require industry insiders to report suspicious activity.

* Mandate simplified loan disclosures.

* Let bankruptcy courts modify mortgage contracts.
