It was my own. Where you go to school is not the same thing as who your favorite team is. In my case it helped decide where I went to school. For 80% of fans the team they grow up cheering for is more important than where they went to school. I knew a lot of people at BYU who if if came down to BYU vs. their hometown favorite they would have gone with the hometown favorite. Likewise there are literally thousands of students at the U who cheer for BYU over the U.
