LDS art
I was at a gallery the other day looking around (don't ask why), and I come across some pencil drawings of naked female figures on paper. But it wasn't blank paper, it was actually hymnal paper, with the musical notation and words and everything. The notation looked familiar, and sure enough, it was pages from the LDS hymnal. It appeared that the hymn titles were chosen for their irony, or humor.
I don't know if the artist is LDS or not, but I figure it can't be coincidence that an LDS hymnal was used. The artist has a website. I would not consider the drawings to be pornographic, but they are representations of the nude female form. Thus it may or may not be appropriate for you to view. It's the gallery collection under "pastels": http://lisasoderlund.fineartstudioonline.com/works Maybe Ms. Soderlund, if she stumbles across this, can explain her work to us if she so chooses. After all, many would argue that works of art should stand by themselves apart from the artist's intent. Last edited by MikeWaters; 04-12-2010 at 08:12 PM. |
