BYU RPI move from #21 to #20
http://www.cougarboard.com/nologin/m...tml?id=2505476
Last night we moved from #21 to #20, not because Lamar, Boise, UCLA, and Oral Roberts won. But because Nevada who was ranked #20 beat 3-24 Idaho, dropping them to #23. Our opponents' results have virtually no effect on our RPI at this point. Our opponents have played a combined 600 some games. Our opponents' opponents have played a combined 15,000 games. Our SOS, as far as the teams we've already played and how it relates to others, is pretty locked in. The changes from here out will come as we add new results--each game we play will alter it slightly and each game our peers in the rankings will change them slightly, but opponents we've already played mean next to nothing at this point. |

BTW, losing on the road to Lamar hurts us no more than losing to AFA on the road instead, as far as the RPI itself goes (certainly the committee members would put a different qualitative value on it). |
